What are the search/browse options available? To search for your matrimonial partner you can use any of the following options: Quick Search allows you to quickly find partners on the basis of age. The Advanced Search option gives you more detailed search options. The additional search options include Basic characteristics such as her religious affiliation, values, whether she has and wants children, as well as her Appearance, Lifestyle and Interests, Religion and Desired Match City Search allows you to find eligible women in your own city, or in a city of your choice anywhere in the world. Keyword Search allows you to:Find women with specific words in their profile; and thereby discover matches who share your values, lifestyle, and interests, e.g. Tablighi, Qadiri, cross-country, rollerblading… Profile ID Search allows you to search for specific women's profiles by using their profile ID Browse by Language lets you search for muslimas who speak the languages that you specify. Browse by Country lets you view the profiles of women who live in the world regions and countries that you specify. Browse by Age allows you to view the profiles of women in the age group you select. View Featured Profiles lets you view the special few women's profiles that have been selected to be featured on the site. This list is constantly changing. So check back often. After saving a search, all you have to do is execute the same search again to get a list of women who suit what you are looking for. How does Advanced Search work? Our Advanced Search feature is powerful tool for your marriage search. With Advanced Search you can zero in on suitable profiles on the basis of numerous criteria. There are 5 major search categories: Basics, Appearance, Lifestyle & Interests, Religion, and Her Desired Match. Her Desired Match refers to criteria regarding what she is looking for in a husband, for example, how old she wants him to be, where he should live and whether she would accept a man who already has children. By clicking on the colored arrows to the left of the search categories you can make the search criteria they contain visible. For example, if you click on Basics you can then define basic search parameters such as what you want her age and marital status to be, whether you would accept it if she already has children, what her educational level should be, etc. Clicking on the arrow a second time hides the search criteria. Use the dropdown list under the 5 search categories to limit the recency of the profiles - your choices are profiles made active whenever, during the last 24 hours, during the last week and during the last month. If you are a registered user, you will also have the choice of naming and saving the search for later use. What is the difference between the Preferred Profiles and the Contact Basket? Both Preferred Profiles and the Contact Basket enable you to store profiles that interest you. The difference between the two is that Contact Basket is designed as a temporary holding place - a "shopping cart" - before you buy. Preferred Profiles on the other hand is a kind of favorites list where registered users can store the profiles that interest them over the long term. Can I short-list profiles that I like on MuslimaMatch.com and view them later? Yes, you can. The Preferred Profiles feature will help you do this. To use this feature, you need to be logged in. At the top and bottom of every profile, click the option "Add selected profiles to Preferred Profiles list ". To view the Preferred Profiles list, log in to MuslimaMatch.com and then click on the "My Preferred Profiles" link in the left navigation bar or click on the link in you "My Account" panel. You will be shown then the list of your favourite profiles. You may also remove profiles from this list by clicking on the "Remove from your Preferred Profiles list" link to the write of the profile in question. What is Preferred Profiles? Preferred Profiles is an option open only to all registered users. The Preferred Profiles list lets you keep track of those women who interest you. Though, not as reliable as the two methods above, depending on the language, you could also limit your search to women residing in or whose country of birth is a specific country on the Browse by Country, Search or Advanced Search pages. The assumption being that, for example, if a woman lives or was born in Albania she will speak Albanian. What is the difference between a woman's "Country of Residence" and "Country of Birth"? Her "Country of Residence" is the country in which she currently lives (whether or not she is a citizen/passport holder of that country). Her "Country of Citizenship" is the country of which she is a citizen/passport holder. She may or may not be have been born in either of these countries. There is another section of her profile that deals with her ethnicity, if this is a concern. Why am I not finding many matches? There can be many reasons why you are not receiving many responses. It is possible that your preferences do not match any of the women's profiles currently in the system. Try adjusting your search criteria - making them broader or more specific. And keep trying, insha'Allah you will find the one you seek. Why am I receiving matches from members whose profiles don't match my preferences? The most likely reason could be that the partner profile that you have created is too vague or is not specific. To receive more suitable matches and contacts make your profile (MuslimaMatch.com Plus members) and searches more specific to your preferences.
